It’s hard to believe how quickly 2009 is passing. We’ve faced many financial challenges this year and I hope that the importance of the work we all do, including reducing the cost of unnecessary pretrial detention, has served to keep your agencies well. Our board is working diligently planning a conference that will provide informative and stimulating workshops and discussion for pretrial service and ATI agencies. The conference is slated for April 25 – 26, 2010. We will be updating the website and mailing save the date postcards in the near future with more details about the conference.
Election results are in and I’d like to welcome two new NYAPSA Board members; Jon Heller and Daniel Rodriguez. Jon is a Unit Administrator at the Dutchess County Office of Probation and Community Corrections with over twenty years of pre-trial service experience. Jon will be serving as V.P. for Diversion. Daniel is with the NYC Criminal Justice Agency and is returning to us as a former NYAPSA Board member. He is the Region I Director and also brings with him many years of pretrial experience as well as his former board member experience. I will be serving as NYAPSA President and Craig will now be serving as V.P. for Release. Please follow the link to the NYAPSA Board for a full listing of our Board members.
